Our “Trial Run”

Friday, July 24th, 2009

We will present a program to “at risk” students in GA on 7/29.  The GA location is within an hour’s drive.  The topic is “First Nations & Mayans & Incas.”  After making connections with the cultures and their arts, we will discuss the role of masks in many global cultures.  Students will create a mask of their own design utilizing images from the First Nations’ cultures.

Getting Hooked on Art….

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Ever have a passion for something?  Ours is Art!  This blog will follow the Alabama Art Advocacy Van across the state.

Hooked on Art is the name; and teaching Art is the game.

Retired teachers are we two, sharing our knowledge of the Arts and Sciences for you.

Forty-three years of experience available by appointment for students’ enjoyment.

Our program is simple; we present interdisciplinary art activities that teach background history, cultural connections, and art techniques resulting in a completed project.

Follow our trax, get hooked on blogging, and blow your horn when you see us coming!

This project is supported by Alabama Art Education Association. (AAEAonline.org)
